The Advancement Administrator is a part-time role supporting the Executive Director in Advancement and Fundraising efforts to further A Door of Hope's mission to offer free help to women who are verifying and making decisions about their pregnancies.

Job Description: Advancement Administrator 

Type: Part Time (Hourly)

Reports to: Executive Director

Evaluations: 3 Months after Hire and Annually in April

Position Overview: The Advancement Administrator is part-time, non-exempt employee with a workweek of 24 hours (3-days a week, flexible as to in-office or remote) and at various times, on a Saturday or Sunday for advancement purposes. The first three months require a minimum of two days a week in the office for training purposes. The preferred candidate will have previous working experience, ideally in a nonprofit. This position will require strong administrative, project management, and event planning skills.  Attention to detail will be essential as this role will regularly manage and input detailed donor data. Though not required, existing knowledge of advancement procedures and processes would be of benefit to the person in this position.

  • Servant-minded lover of Jesus Christ, embracing God’s Word and ADOH’s Policies & Procedures, Code of Ethics, Statement of Faith, Principles, and core values while supporting biblical lines of authority.
  • Have a firm understanding of what the Bible teaches concerning life, salvation and sexual integrity.
  • Innately demonstrates a general love of people, genuinely desiring to help others.
  • Hold a strong commitment to life at all stages.
  • Hold a Bachelor’s Degree. Marketing, Business, Public Relations, Non-Profit Management or equivalent fields would be preferred.
  • Ability to communicate well verbally and in written form.
  • Must be highly organized and detail-oriented. A person who sticks to a calendar and hits deadlines.
  • Because this position may allow for at-home work, this individual must have a strong, independent work ethic that makes strategic and informed decisions on their own and is motivated by a desire to achieve excellence in their job without constant oversight. 
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office Products.
  • Have experience with customer client relationship databases (CRM) or is quick to learn new software
  • Able to plan and orchestrate large events with excellence 
  • Respect the confidential nature of this ministry and keep all confidences as required.

Responsibilities:

  • Support the ED, in planning and executing all fundraising campaigns, particularly the Baby Bottle Benefit Campaign and the Fall Gala.
  • Maintain a yearly advancement calendar.
  • Assist the ED in developing existing church relations and building new church relations.
  • Develop a working knowledge of e-Tapestry (CRM) and use this software to manage donors.  
  • Regularly input data into e-Tapestry and run weekly and monthly reports requested by the ED and Board of Directors. 
  • Run weekly giving reports and print weekly thank-you notes.
  • Develop a working knowledge of MailChimp and use this platform for routine communication with donors. 
  • Support the ED and Graphic Designer in developing quarterly newsletters and our Annual Report. 
  • Maintain a communication schedule, including print and digital, and manage the logistics of producing effective communication pieces. 
  • Maintain files on the Y (ADOH’s shared documents program) for logos, copies of specific event materials used for different events, appeals, annual report and other publications.
  • Meet with the ED once a week, either in person or via Zoom.
  • Actively observe and identify ways to improve our processes, systems and advancement endeavors 

The Executive Director may delegate additional responsibilities not included in this job description.

No matter the concern, A Door of Hope provides high standards of care and compassion for every woman who seeks help at our centers. A Door of Hope centers are located in Wilmington, Newark, and Middletown, Delaware.
