The children’s director position, first and foremost, shepherds these children toward following Jesus Christ. Secondly, the children’s director shepherds a team of disciple makers and interns who exemplify the mission of Christ to kids. This includes event planning, teaching, training and developing disciple makers within the ministry, discipleship of interns, time and budget management, communicating with parents, and guiding D|S Kids operations in accordance with the overall mission of DSCC.
Hours of Operation Expectations:
This is a full-time position. The expectation is to be on-site and working when needed. Saturday and Sunday ministries are foundational and expected. There will also be needed times to meet with your staff, disciple makers, parents and even at times kids under proper circumstances.
Expectations of Duties:
? For the purpose of discipling relationships with and shepherding children, the children’s director will usually be present at D|S Kids events unless other staff and/or interns are overseeing.
? Select, create and implement Bible-based curriculum for teaching, activities, programs, devotionals, music, video series’, etc. for D|S Kids.
? Lead the discipleship of D|S Kids staff and interns.
? Recruit and train disciple makers for D|S Kids, including both adult disciple makers and students disciple makers.
? Collaborate with the School Outreach Director for on-campus ministry.
? Develop and implement a discipleship plan for children with special needs.
? Provide pastoral care/counseling for children and their families as needed (and appropriate).
? Manage budgets for D|S Kids–faithfully stewarding the appropriate funds for the purpose of discipling kids.
? Work hand in hand with the other Student Ministries Pastors with the aim of creating an overall Student Ministries Department that is excellent in its discipleship of children, students and their families.
? Other duties and/or responsibilities not specifically set forth above may, however, be assigned as needed. Whenever practicable and, in accordance with legal guidelines, reasonable accommodation(s) will be made to enable an otherwise qualified individual with a disability to perform the essential functions of the position.

? Committed to local outreach and discipleship for children.
? A strong communicator.
? Stay current with children’s culture trends to effectively connect the culture with the unchanging Gospel.
? Is in agreement with the DSCC doctrinal statement.
