The Communications Director will oversee and lead all church-wide components of communications, media, and marketing to add inspiration, motivation, and clarity to church messages while maintaining the role as a partner to ministry leaders.

Job Description

Key Responsibilities:
1. Organizational Leadership
• While understanding the unique environment at Ingleside and in Middle Georgia, ensure overall communication strategies are relevant, excellent, clear, and memorable.
• Stay aware of cutting-edge communications and media strategies and tools and make appropriate upgrade recommendations to expand Ingleside’s brand and reach.
• Establish standards according to the Communication Guide and update it appropriately.
• Manage the proofing process.
• Create and manage communication strategies for church-wide events and emphases.
• Produce regular reports and metrics related to Communications goals.

2. Graphic Design
• Manage and prioritize requests for graphic designs (ads, logos, screen graphics, postcards, flyers, posters, t-shirts, merchandise, etc.).
• Clarify and meet deadlines using project management tools (currently Click Up).
• Manage outside graphic designers as needed.

3. Leadership Over Other Media
• Post relevant content to various social media platforms.
• Evaluate and implement new ways of social media utilization.
• Manage comments and reply to messages with an Ingleside voice.
• Facilitate and prioritize work with contract photographers and videographers.
• Coordinate livestream needs with the Production Team.

4. Cross-Team & Community Engagement
• Help ministry teams create and manage communication strategies that occur within ministry and church-wide promotional avenues.
• Assist, as needed, with vendor relationships (t-shirts, merchandise, printing, etc.).
• Work with the Worship Arts Team to produce weekly pre-service ad roll.
• Relate to 13WMAZ regarding commercials.
• Provide front-line communication and proactive engagement with media outlets.

5. Church Publications
• Manage, design, and publish Ingleside’s weekly email newsletter and Pastor’s blog.• Design and publish the weekly worship folder.
• Design and publish other church-wide publications as needed (worship folder inserts, special programs, flyers, etc.).
• Recruit and direct the team of weekend worship folder volunteers.

6. Media Management
• Maintain an organized archive of church graphics and photos.
• Update the online photo album as needed.
• Recruit and train volunteer photographers and videographers as needed.
• Subscription management (Adobe, Canva, SmugMug, Vimeo, etc.)

7. Meeting Attendance
• Weekly one-on-one with supervisor.
• Weekly and monthly staff meetings.
• Cross-team meetings as requested or necessary.

Primary Skills Necessary:
1. A growing walk with Christ and commitment to personal spiritual disciplines
2. Competency in Adobe Creative Suite
3. Relational competencies that facilitate teamwork
4. Excellent written and verbal communication skills
5. Knowledgeable of social media strategy and trends
6. Strong creative, time management, and leadership skills

Experience Requirements:
1. Degree in media, communications, design, or similar field
2. 3+ years of full-time experience in organizational communications
3. Experience working with churches is preferred but not required
