Title: Contemporary Worship Arts Pastor/Leader
Purpose of Position: The position of Contemporary Worship Arts Pastor is to provide authentic expressions of worship that glorify God and encourage the body of Christ at Ingleside.
Reports to: Worship Arts Team Leader
Relates Closely with: Worship Arts Team
Key Responsibilities:
1. Contemporary Worship Planning and Leading
• Recruit, teach, and pastor bands at Ingleside
• Schedule and coordinate bands and vocalists for Sunday leadership
• Coordinate and schedule all rehearsals for contemporary worship
• Work and coordinate with production ministry team for contemporary worship
• Familiar with Planning Center, Ableton, and other music based software
2. Worship Arts Team
• Pastor and shepherd band members at Ingleside to be used in blended and contemporary settings
• Help build a worship culture that is continually attracting new artists, infusing new talent, and results in an ever-growing worship ministry
• Recruit players, singers, and artists with the capacity to fulfill the vision
• Vocal and instrumental arranging as needed and requested
• Offer creative ways to enhance and encourage authentic worship
• Purchase music, instruments, equipment, supplies as requested
• Maintenance of instrumental equipment (i.e. drums, guitars, amps etc.)
• Provide budget information as requested
• Work with WAT in providing leadership in worship arts for students and kids
3. Support and leadership as needed related to other services and events at Ingleside including but not limited to:
• Annual Senior Adult/Staff Thanksgiving worship service
• Big Wednesday services
• "Christmas at Ingleside" weekend
• Christmas Eve
• Easter weekend
• Church Picnic
• Student Sessions Tour
4. General Ministry
• Leadership at weddings and funerals as requested
• Attend staff meetings and all staff training as requested (i.e. conferences, retreats, etc.)
• Occasional Minister on Call
Primary Skills Necessary:
1. Excellence in guitar
2. Excellence in voice
3. Commitment to working with a worship leadership team in a multi-generational church with multiple musical heart languages.
Experience Requirements:
1. Experience in building and leading a band for contemporary worship
2. Experience in building and leading teams of volunteers with excellence
3. Formal music training and/or seminary training is preferred (not required)
4. Knowledge of technology and software for worship (i.e. proficiency in Planning Center, loops, etc.)
Time Required: 40+ hours per week (Sunday - Thursday)
Salary: Competitive for the role and commensurate with education and experience.
