Director of Worship & Next Generation Ministries

Job Description

We are looking for someone to join in our mission of sharing Jesus with compassion in Tacoma. The person we are praying for is a gifted creative with a passion for people. Discovery CC currently has one service meeting at the historic Lincoln High School. Our weekend services serve approximately 250 people.

The applicant will find Discovery to be a high-performing environment valuing continual learning, ministry contextualization, teamwork, and an utter dependence on God — and just a fun community to be a part of!

Qualifications

WORSHIP:

A good candidate would...

• model a growing faith
• exhibit skilled musicianship
• demonstrate ability to communicate effectively
• have experience building/leading teams
• flourish in a mosaic (multi-ethnic) environment
• have a vision for discipling/developing artists

NEXT GENERATION:

A good candidate would...

• relate well with 13- to 25-year-olds
• experience developing volunteer teams
• demonstrate ability to develop strategy to reach, redeem, and deploy students and young adults
• have a conviction to disciple young leaders
• be committed to supporting safe environments for youth, young adults, families and volunteers

Job Duties and Responsibilities:

• Participate in a Discovery small group
• Attend weekly staff meetings
• Facilitate a weekly Next Gen team meeting
• Facilitate a weekly Worship team meeting
• Create and implement an ongoing recruitment plan for new leaders 
• Oversee a system of care for leaders and participants
• Plan and execute creative worship encounters with the senior leader 

Desired:

• Degree in related field
• Experience in video/audio production and software

This is a hybrid position which requires both remote and in-person working hours.

Hourly Expectations: 

The ideal candidate would be available for a full-time (40 hours/week) role. Considerations may be made for a part-time role with a primary focus (Next Gen OR Worship, 10-20 hours/wk).

Compensation Range: DOQ

FT salary: 50-65,000/year

PT: negotiable
