The Resting Place Family Life Pastor will be responsible for the overseeing and leading of the families of the church. The goal of the Family Life Pastor is to help our families have an encounter with Holy Spirit and grow in their faith.

Job Description

Position Purpose:  The Resting Place Family Life Pastor will be responsible for the overseeing and leading of the families of the church.  The goal of the Family Life Pastor is to help our families have an encounter with Holy Spirit and grow in their faith.   

Personal Requirements

  • A mature relationship with the person of Holy Spirit, Jesus, and Father God
  • Exhibits the fruit of the Spirit and knows how to walk in the power of the Spirit
  • A love for Holy Spirit
  • Strong relationship skills
  • A person of integrity who has a good reputation with those inside and outside of the church
  • A high energy leader
  • Loves to be with people (gets filled when around other people)
  • In agreement with the doctrines of Resting Place Church
  • In agreement with the Leadership of Resting Place Church

 

Knowledge/Gifting/Skills/Abilities/Experience:

  • Strong abilities and experience in equipping leaders and working with teams
  • Ability to connect relationally with all ages
  • Good teaching ability and communication skills
  • Ability to work closely with other staff and leaders to see that our objectives are accomplished
  • Proven ability to develop and implement strategy
  • A willingness and ability to pioneer new things and inspire others to new initiatives
  • A strong, biblically grounded marriage and family dynamic
  • A love for kids, students, families, but able to connect with all generations
  • Experience in recruiting, organizing and developing volunteer teams
  • Flexible and calm under pressure and/or in emergency situations
  • Self-motivated, results oriented, independent worker with the leadership and administrative skills necessary to recruit, engage and lead teams
  • Demonstrates experience in developing and managing creative and engaging ministry programs for children, youth and adults.
  • Pastoral and or ministry experience 

 

Responsibilities:

  • Be a part of the Pastoral Lead team to help fulfill the church mission and vision of the church
  • Assist in helping to care for the congregational needs of the church
  • Organize and develop lay persons to assist in pastoral care
  • Help in church wide events to support the mission and vision of the church
  • Participate in all staff meetings
  • Provide biblical teachings as needed as part of the Sunday teaching team
  • Equip, encourage and care for ministry volunteers
  • Ensure new ministry volunteers are equipped to effectively minister to kids, students and adults
  • Plan and oversee Sunday morning programming for elementary to high school students
  • Oversee the safety of children, youth and volunteers by ensuring all volunteers have met appropriate safety protocols
  • Create an environment in which all members are equipped to be able to have an encounter with Holy Spirit and grow in their faith
  • Participate actively in the pursuit of genuine relationships with the people of Resting Place
  • Maintain open lines of communication with the Senior Pastor and Executive Pastor and Leadership Team in regard to ministry-related issues
  • Involved in the community, seeking out relationships with families who do not know Holy Spirit
  • Other duties or tasks as assigned by Senior Pastor and/or Executive Pastor in the best interest of Resting Place

Accountability:

The Family Life Pastor is part of staff and is accountable to the Senior Pastor and/or Executive Pastor.

 

Salaries:

Salary: Negotiable depending on experience

Hours: This is a part time position with likely potential for full time employment (depending on skills and experience it could start at full time)
