FIRST IMPRESSIONS DIRECTOR
Hours: Full time – 40 hours/week
Pay: Salary – non-exempt (will log hours)
RESPONSIBILITIES
First Impressions Ministry
- Design and oversee the weekend services patio and lobby experience to deliver on standards, values and vision in-accordance with implementation standards as set by supervisor.
- Manage the First Impressions Teams (coffee, ushers, greeters, parking, events, and set up/tear down) and Offering Team including recruiting, scheduling, development & training, care for weekends.
- Work with the Assimilation Director to maintain a leadership development strategy for First Impression Teams to build up and equip team leads with a strong tiered leadership structure.
- Works with Communications Project Manager to coordinate and plan promotional materials for events and weekends. Submits Roadmap and Com Event requests as needed.
- Oversee volunteer leaders, planning and execution for Saturday nights and all church events.
- Develop and adhere to budgets and honor church finances through prudent spending; Track, categorize and report all expenses. Ensure prompt payment for contracted services.
- Oversee (monitor, order and restock) First Impression team supplies (coffee bar, ushers/greeters, offering, etc.) ensuring all teams have needed equipment for the weekend and are able to find what they need and resupply their areas.
- Ensure Sunday and special event offering is handled- including collection, safely storing, restocking giving envelopes as needed.
- Maintain lobby and patio spaces to be welcoming, aesthetically fresh, and prepared to receive people well for weekend services and for mid-week events.
- Conduct at least two First Impressions/Offering volunteer trainings/and or team appreciation events (Fall/Winter)
- Attend and participate in weekly Department meetings and All-Staff Meetings.
All Church
- The First Impressions Director will be asked to participate in various activities which have all-church implications.
- Attend Monthly Lead Team Meetings
- Attend Monthly Staff Meetings
- Attend Monthly Roadmap meetings
- Other duties as assigned
QUALIFICATIONS & DESIRED SKILLS:
- Proven Experience: Experience in logistics, project coordination, and event planning (eye for aesthetics - layout, flow, etc.). Previous work experience in ministry or leadership roles is helpful.
- Leader of Leaders: Confidence and enthusiasm to lead, motivate, and care for a team of over 60 volunteers to deliver on vision for weekend and special event experience. (“Equip the saints” Eph. 4:12). Ability and desire to delegate.
- Hospitality Oriented: Passion for authentic hospitality. Innate love of people and desire to ensure people are known and valued.
- Efficiency: Implementer, with the ability to multitask, make quick decisions, and prioritize.
- Calling: A specific calling to ministry or demonstrates a passion for ministry
- Flexibility & Cooperation: Flexible and adaptable team player, willing collaborator, self-motivated and able to work well with diverse leaders and teams. Embraces and adapts to growth, change, innovation, and creativity. Responds cooperatively and promptly to direction and correction.
- Strong Peer Relationships: Work closely and cooperatively with all volunteers and staff. Able to
- encourage and coach volunteers and provide genuine care for the well-being of tech team volunteers.
- Commitment to Excellence: Provide and maintain a high level of excellence in the weekend experience.
APPROXIMATE WEEKLY HOURS:
- This is a full time job Tuesday-Sunday. Additional hours may be required during special events (Christmas, Easter, VBS, Saturday Night Gatherings, etc)
EXPECTATIONS & REQUIREMENTS
- Maintain a consistent devotional time with God
- Must make Harbor Point Church their home church and participate regularly in a small group, Life Group or ministry
- Must have completed Rooted or agree to complete Rooted within one-year of hiring.
- Be available for certain staff “all-plays” such as Christmas Eve and Easter services, VBS and other all church events or weekends.
- Understands it is a privilege to serve the Lord in vocational ministry. Those who serve God on the staff at Harbor Point are expected to set a Biblical standard of personal conduct and lifestyle
