Job Description

Purpose:

  • To minister to the spiritual, social, emotional and physical needs of the men who come to the Mission for shelter and/or program.
  • To supervise and oversee all Men’s Ministry personnel and resources (counselors, resident specialists, and support personnel, etc.).
  • To manage the administrative, social, educational and spiritual activities of the shelter, the Men’s Discipleship/Rehabilitation Program, and the associated ministries.

Qualifications:

  • Personal: Must provide a clear Biblical testimony of a personal experience of receiving, by faith, the Lord Jesus Christ as Savior and growth in the Christian Life. Must maintain an exemplary Christian life, and desire and call to serve the Lord in the ministry of Rescue.
  • Educational: Master’s degree in ministry, Christian education, pastoral counseling, non-profit management with Biblical/theological minor, or equivalent experience preferred. Education and experience in Rescue Mission/Christian Rehabilitation helpful.
  • Skills and Experience: Should be a person with management experience in Rescue Mission or Christian Urban Ministry for adults and minors. Should have good communication skills toward staff, residents, volunteers, and other ministry participants.

Responsibilities:

  • Plan and oversee spiritual, social, Bible-based rehabilitation, recreational, and educational programs of the Men’s Ministries, especially regarding the Christian-spiritual discipleship of all programs’ participants.
  • To coordinate and collaborate with the Women’s Ministry Director and President on the overall content and objectives of the Mission’s Discipleship/Rehabilitation Program.
  • Work with the Mission’s Projects/Development Department to develop and utilize a cadre of volunteers for on-going chapels and other volunteer opportunities and to facilitate the advancement of the general organization.
  • Manage, monitor, and evaluate Men’s Program staff in accordance with goals and objectives for the shelter, adult Discipleship/Rehabilitation and accompanying programs.
  • To create and monitor the Men’s Programs’ budget in coordination with the Mission Finance Director.
  • To meet regularly with the President and the other lead staff in coordination meetings.
  • Evaluate and order material for overall program needs.
  • Oversee for the daily use and maintenance of Men’s Program
  • To coordinate with the Food Service Director, Support Service Director, and others regularly interacting with the Center Programs’ participants to facilitate smooth operation of the Men’s Program.
  • To represent the Mission, especially in regard to the program’s ministries to external audiences as requested by the Project/Development Director.
  • To perform such other duties as may be assigned by the President.
