Summary of Position

The NextGen Pastor must champion family ministry (birth-28 years) to the Executive Team and cast vision to all members of the NextGen Team. This pastor must have a heart for leadership development and the skills to supervise and manage people. The NextGen Pastor will ensure that those under their purview provide discipleship, pastoral care, strategic planning, and team-building in their areas of focus. The NextGen Pastor will engage with the Executive Team to develop ministries that are reproducible across all of our campuses.

Essential Functions

·    Architect and protect an overarching purpose and strategy of the NextGen Ministry so that all age groups are working toward a common goal.

·    Oversee the NextGen Team through supervision, reviews, professional development, and team-building.

·    Champion and develop a healthy leadership structure by recruiting and raising up key leaders (lead a team of leaders).

·    Oversee the NextGen Team as they plan and execute biblically accurate, culturally relevant, and high-energy weekly programs/services for all ages.

·    Work with the NextGen Team to create an atmosphere where children, teens, young adults, and leaders connect and build meaningful relationships.

·    Lead the NextGen Team in identifying, recruiting, training, deploying, nurturing, and developing adult and student volunteers within their focus areas.

·    Create a pro-family culture; align the NextGen ministry by partnering with families to help them understand the culture, vision, and strategy of Fellowship’s NextGen ministry.

·    Help the NextGen Team plan and organize events, small groups, and mission trips.

·    Communicate across campuses about the NextGen Ministry and ensure simple and accessible connection points for volunteers and the congregation.

·    A high-level leader experienced in empowering and developing leaders, and building strong, connected teams.

·    Able to manage conflict and leverage strong problem-solving skills.

·    Multi-tasker, strong interpersonal skills, and positive attitude.

·    Dynamic written and verbal communication skills.

·    Excellent organizational skills, attention to detail, and has the ability to work well under pressure.
