SECURITY GUARD

The University of Valley Forge invites applications for the role of unarmed Security Guard.

JOB DESCRIPTION

This position is to be part of a team that provides 24/7/365 security coverage. The security guard reports to the Director of Security.

ESSENTIAL RESPONSIBILITIES:

Patrol the campus, conducting safety and security checks.
Reports and investigates any suspicious people or vehicles.
Responds to student requests for assistance.
Summons police or ambulance when appropriate for incidents that occur on campus.
Monitor surveillance cameras.

REQUIREMENTS:

Law enforcement, security or military experience preferred.
Valid driver’s license.
Be physically able to perform duties including walking, running, lifting, pushing, and pulling.
Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
Highly organized.
Understanding of security protocol.
Adept decision-making skills.
Detail oriented.
Able to investigate potential problems and intervene in hostile situations.
Work proactively, rather than reactively.
