Student Pastor

Job Description

The role of the Student Pastor is to direct and enthusiastically cast the vision of West Point Baptist Church to ministry directors while assisting in the implantation of strategy to meet the needs of students and families in the Pine Belt. The goal is to develop students who love God and serve others. The Student Pastor will report directly to the Senior Pastor.

Student Pastor
The student pastor is responsible to oversee the youth ministry (grades 7th-12th) and ensure that we operate within the scope of West Point’s vision in a fun creative way.

• Keep students and parents informed of topics/themes being studied, special events, etc. through social media and all digital platforms via phone calls.
• Call, visit or send cards to students on special occasions or when a student is sick.
• Provide support and leadership to ministry coordinators while creating a family bond.
• See each week as an opportunity to impact a student's life.
• Organize training and planning sessions for children’s ministry leaders.
• Screen children’s leaders to ensure we are placing the best in leadership roles.
• Be available to counsel and pray with volunteers, leaders, and children regarding spiritual matters.
• Create off-campus activities for children during the summer.
• Create an environment for our kids to grow up and learn to make wiser choices, build stronger relationships, and develop a deeper faith.

-Maintain God-ordained priorities in your life by putting Jesus Christ first, your spouse second, your children third, and the ministry fourth.
-Give at least 10% of your income to the vision of West Point church.
-Be loyal to the vision and staff of West Point Church and always protect the unity of the church.
-Invest and Invite the lost to know and come to Church
