The Worship Coordinator position exists to help oversee and assist in the weekly operations of the worship department.

Job Description

Hours: Part time • up to 25 hours/week
Pay: Hourly
Reports to: Worship Pastor

The Worship Coordinator position exists to help oversee and assist in the weekly operations of the worship
department and provide support for the Worship Pastor in the departments “reach” of worship throughout
the church.

Worship Ministry

  • Manages weekly email and PCO communication with worship team volunteers
  • Manages and maintains Green Room (snack supplies, keeping it clean).
  • Assists with the preparation and coordination of details pertaining to special events including: Worship Nights, Easter, Ash Wednesday, Christmas, Rooted celebrations, and VBS.
  • Manages and updates Worship Team Databases (i.e., Songs, Musicians, recordings).
  • Manages supplies and sets up for communion.
  • Submits and manages communication requests for worship ministry.
  • Choirs: Coordinates Children’s and Adult Choir (Scheduling, Stage Placement, Song Communication, inputting vocal parts in PCO).
  • Contracted Musicians: Manages contract musicians - overseeing payment and W9 information.
  • Coordinates future special rehearsals and training nights.
  • Coordinates and manages quarterly Team Night (Team communication, food, and special elements).
  • Oversees department administration to include but not limited to answering emails, maintaining communication with teams.
  • Submits Roadmap and Com Event requests as needed for events.
  • Creates event registrations in Planning Center for worship related events as needed.
  • Worship Department point of communication for student ministries. (In conjunction with Worship Pastor – assists in supporting and resourcing the growth of next gen worship leaders and teams).
  • Assists in the planning, recruitment and training of new volunteers.
  • Attends and participates in weekly ministry and regular department team meetings.
  • Leads worship for weekend services, student services, and special events.

All Church

  • The Worship Coordinator will be asked to participate in various activities which have all-church implications. There will be flexibility due to the part time nature of this role.
  • Attend Monthly Staff Meetings
  • Attend Monthly Roadmap meetings
  • Other duties as assigned


  • Reporting relationship: The Worship Coordinator will report to the Worship Pastor.

This position requires not only strong administrative skills but also certain skills and character qualities.

  • Follower of Jesus Christ who is trustworthy, confidential and a mature believer.
  • Ability to lead worship (vocals and instrument) in a variety of different settings
  • Exceptional interpersonal, verbal, written and organizational skills.
  • Good time management skills
  • Shows strong initiative and follow-through and attention to detail
  • Ability to work in a multi-task environment
  • Good at problem solving
  • Strong work history that shows commitment to excellence and outstanding results
  • Positive attitude, team player
  • Ability to collaborate and create strong relationships with other staff members & volunteers


  • Maintains a consistent devotional time with God.
  • Must make Harbor Point Church their home church and participate regularly in a small group, Life Group or ministry
  • Must have completed Rooted or agree to complete Rooted within one-year of hiring.
  • Be available for certain staff “all-plays” such as Christmas Eve and Easter services, VBS and other all church events or weekends.
  • Understands it is a privilege to serve the Lord in vocational ministry. Those who serve God on staff at Harbor Point Church are expected to embrace a high biblical standard of personal conduct and lifestyle both public and personal, and sign the Leadership Commitment agreement.
  • Agrees with and lives out the vision and values of Harbor Point Church and adheres to the guidelines and conditions for employment as outlined in the Employee Handbook.
